Sania Mirza and Shoaib Malik to marry

Feb 04, 2010 | In Arab Love and Marriage News | No Comments

Indian tennis player Sania Mirza and her cricket-playing beau, Shoaib Malik, are set to tie the knot. Though the unexpected union has been big news in the Muslim dating world (who isn't intrigued by this gorgeous, glamorous couple?), many critics of the pair worry their union won't last.

Mirza has had a scandalous past. The lovely lady was often criticized in her native Egypt for her short skirts and form-fitting tops, and she's more of a pinup girl than role model for conservative Muslim girls, according to The Telegraph.

She was engaged to marry a childhood friend Sohrab Mirza, but the raven-haired beauty's family announced the two were incompatible before they made it down the aisle.

The news source further opines that Malik, who hasn't surpassed his career high in 2007, and the tennis player may be engaging in such a public affair as a way to raise publicity for their diminished careers.

After their wedding, the couple plans to settle down in Dubai, the news provider reports.

Though the pair does seem to be suspiciously public about their relationship, we hope that they're getting married for the right reasons. At the very least, their marriage may produce beautiful babies!
