Is Sex and the City 2 anti-Muslim?

May 25, 2010 | In Arab Entertainment News | No Comments

A scene in Sex and the City 2 features a group of Muslim women in Abu Dhabi stripping off their long robes to reveal the stylish high-fashion ensembles they've donned underneath them, according to Reuters.

As the popular franchise prepares to hit the big screen for a second time, long-time fans of the series may be slightly befuddled by the message of the film.

As Reuters points out, liberal audiences are likely to be confused by a combination of the film's strong feminist bent with what appears to be vaguely anti-Muslim sentiments.

Throughout the film, which features the four ladies taking in all of the luxuries that Abu Dhabi has to offer, (gorgeous scenery, delicious food, a fun nightlife, and, of course, high-fashion), the girls also clash with the culture of the city.

What do you think - is the film within its rights to question the traditional city with its trademark New York attitude, or have the ladies gone a little too far in the quick appraisal of the rich and complicated society?ADNFCR-3193-ID-19796948-ADNFCR
